Online summer classes help free up teens' time

In some Texas districts, students who are traveling, working or taking other classes are using online summer courses to catch up or free up room for electives during the school year. "I wanted to be able to pursue my interests instead of wasting a class period on an easy class," said Kody Jackson, 18, who is taking a health class online this summer so he can take AP chemistry, orchestra and tennis in the coming school year.
