Southwest, WestJet plan code-share partnership

Southwest Airlines will enter the international air market through a code-share agreement with WestJet of Canada. The carriers plan to announce flight schedules and other details by late next year. WestJet services nearly 50 destinations in the U.S., Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean. "This is a defining moment for WestJet," WestJet CEO Sean Durfy said. "It marks an important step forward for our guests and their ability to fly to more destinations in the United States conveniently and cost-effectively."
