3 states ramp up HIE projects

Nebraska, Washington and Michigan have launched or expanded their respective health information exchanges to allow more health care providers to gain access to medical data. The Nebraska Health Information Initiative completed a three-month trial and plans to use funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act to allow it to expand into rural areas.
