Children with autism stress mothers more than other disabilities do

Mothers of children with autism experience higher levels of stress than mothers of children with other developmental disabilities, according to a new study in the journal Autism. "Both groups of women are dealing with children who need high levels of caregiving. But there is something about autism that is making a difference and adding stress," said the study's lead author.
