Higher portion of students with special needs passes Calif. exit exam

A bigger percentage of California students are passing the state's high-school exit exam, according to preliminary state data presented Wednesday to the state's education board. Improvement was seen among students with special needs: 55.2% passed the exam by March, up from 52.7% at the same time in 2008.
