NCTA urges FCC to retain waiver policy on STB ban

In a recent filing, the NCTA urged the FCC not to change its three-year-old waiver policy related to the ban on low-cost, limited-function set-top boxes. The NCTA maintained that such set-top boxes help keep consumer prices low and do not threaten the market "developing around devices with more advanced capabilities."
