Sands purchases SouthBay Pavilion

Fred Sands purchased the SouthBay Pavilion shopping center in Carson, Calif. His company, Vintage Capital Group, will pay $50 million for the shopping center. Sands wants to add a 16-screen movie theater to the 1.1-million-square-foot mall anchored by IKEA, Target, Sears and J.C. Penney. The total site spans 73 acres.
