Survey: Americans pay lip service to healthful menu options

Although 77% of Americans said they want restaurants to offer more healthful fare, the same percentage said they base their orders on taste, while only 20% choose items for their nutritional value, according to Mintel. "There's definitely a dichotomy between what people say they want and what they actually do when it comes to healthy restaurant eating," a Mintel representative says.
