T-Mobile parent looks to merging of units to increase sales

A Deutsche Telekom executive predicted Wednesday that the planned merging of its German wireline and mobile divisions would spark a multimillion-dollar jump in revenue. "If we can tap into at least 1% and add wireless, that could raise revenue by a three-digit million-euro sum," said sales and service chief Niek Jan van Damme. In the U.K., the struggling Deutsche Telekom unit T-Mobile U.K. told retailers it would not enter into new contracts with them until year-end as it reviews its distribution policies.
