Used-plane glut lessens at last, but recovery appears distant

For the first time in 18 months, the supply of used business jets on the market has dropped, possibly signaling the bottom that manufacturers have been waiting for. According to UBS Securities, the number of business jets listed for sale dropped by 2% in June, though the backlog is still 48% higher than the same month last year. Aviation consultant Brian Foley says the market could bump along the bottom for months to come, with no real recovery expected until 2013.
