HHS proposal aims to boost patient privacy protection

HHS has proposed rules designed to expand enforcement of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act and strengthen patients' rights to health information privacy. "While health information technology will help America move its health care system forward, the privacy and security of personal health data is at the core of all our work," HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius said.
