New classes move animal studies from science to culture

Classes focused on animals have taken an increasingly cultural bent on campuses across the country. New fields of study move away from more traditional, science-based explorations of animals to include the study of animals and their roles in human culture in disciplines including law, religion, ethics, literature and the arts.
