White House maps out cybersecurity roles, responsibilities

In an effort to clarify expectations and roles in its cybersecurity effort, the White House has issued a memo mapping out responsibilities for the Department of Homeland Security, the Office of Management and Budget and the newly minted role Howard Schmidt has as the federal cybersecurity coordinator. It makes it clear the DHS has primary responsibility for operational cybersecurity.
