Scientist continues research to better understand earthquakes

Vladimir Keilis-Borok, a geophysicist and professor emeritus of the University of California, Los Angeles, has continued working on his breakthrough research on seismic activity since predicting a major earthquake that hit the state in 1989. "This is his white whale. There's something epic about struggling with earthquakes," said Thomas Jordan of the Southern California Earthquake Center.
