Brew festival switches to glass for environment, taste

The Oregon Brewers Festival will offer glass receptacles for tasting for the first time after using plastic cups. The move will make the festival more environmentally friendly and eliminate an after-taste given off by plastic that can affect the flavors of the beers. "While we have always recycled the plastic mugs left at the festival, it still has an impact on the environment, and we are pleased to be moving in a more earth-friendly direction," said Chris Crabb, a festival spokeswoman.
