Calif. tribal casino moves closer to fruition

The North Fork Rancheria of Mono Indians moved closer to building a proposed casino near Madera, Calif., after Gov. Jerry Brown signed a bill allowing the tribe to proceed. The tribe inked a deal in 2003 with Las Vegas-based Station Casinos to help in developing, financing and managing the $350 million project.
