Canadian teachers find recognition programme motivates students

Teachers at a school in Tulita, Northwest Territories, Canada, say they have devised a new type of honour roll, called the Principal's List, which has led to improved student achievement. The list celebrates the achievement of students who earn a grade of 65% or higher in a course with a gift card and recognition at a public ceremony. Educators say the acknowledgement is helping to motivate students to perform better in school.
