Club members in several communities around the U.S. are showing how big their hearts are by personally funding projects to improve their country clubs, including Heritage Hills in McCook, Neb., which raised more than $250,000 to renovate its golf course. “This is really a community project,” says Bill Bieck, golf course superintendent. “We felt like the course had lost some of its luster. People wanted that back." When members make personal contributions to clubs, they become more connected and engaged because they are truly invested in the club's future.
