India increases palm oil imports as prices drop

India's palm oil imports rose 34 percent in June to 680,000 metric tons, up from 505,738 tons last year. In May, imports were up 10 percent after a 4.8 percent drop in April. "Palm oil imports are rising as it is definitely cheaper and that is why you are seeing so much of olein coming in," said Atul Chaturvedi, chief executive officer of Adani Wilmar.
