Partnership to improve trial diversity gains PhRMA

PhRMA joined the partnership of Microsoft and the National Minority Quality Forum to introduce the National Clinical Trial Network, which will seek to improve diversity and enrollment in clinical studies. The NCTN will allow trial sponsors, health care professionals, researchers, patients and registries to connect. The partnership creates "a unique platform to promote awareness and create connectivity that can translate into enhanced diversity in clinical trials," said Dr. Salvatore Alesci, PhRMA's vice president of scientific affairs. "It brings clinical research and health care closer to each other to prevent disparities in the evaluation and access to innovative medicine."
