Pediatric hospital integrates EHR with North American databases

The Heart Program at Miami Children's Hospital announced the successful integration of its Cerner EHR system with three North American congenital heart disease registry databases. The integration was completed by the hospital with the assistance of CardioAccess, which designed the International Clinical Outcomes Database that was configured to assess and record key data for certain specialty procedures. "This latest system integration is one more step in our commitment to best practices. Our surgical and interventional outcomes continue to be among the best in the nation and our focus on transparency ensures a sustained operational focus on this goal," said Dr. Redmond P. Burke, cardiovascular surgery director of The Heart Program.
