Phase I almost complete for Fla.'s $1.2B SunRail project

Work on the $1.2 billion, 62-mile SunRail project's initial phase in Florida is estimated to be 85% complete as the design-build team overcomes challenges inherent in taking an active freight line that crosses many jurisdictions and transforms it into one that will carry passenger trains. Work includes rebuilding more than 70 crossings along a 32-mile section, creating double tracks along 18 miles and upgrading existing communications systems.
