Plant scientist is on a mission to perfect broccoli

Broccoli's health benefits have become well known but the ability to find fresh broccoli is limited in many parts of the country to the cooler periods -- at the beginning or end -- of the growing season. Now, researchers at Cornell University, led by plant scientist Thomas Bjorkman, have developed a hot-weather version of the veggie as part of the Eastern Broccoli Project.
