Renewable-energy advocate is tapped to lead Navy's energy shift

Retired U.S. Navy Vice Adm. Dennis McGinn, a renewable-energy supporter, was nominated by President Barack Obama to become the Navy's assistant secretary for energy, installations and environment. McGinn's nomination is seen as an affirmation of White House support for the Navy's efforts to wean itself from fossil fuels.
