Report: Demand for M2M will drive spike in value-added services

Services designed to support the management and optimization of machine-to-machine networks are poised for a growth surge, according to a report from IHS that predicts that the market for M2M value-added services will grow by a factor of seven by 2017. "The cost and complexity of developing, deploying and operating cellular M2M applications is daunting, leading increasing numbers of companies to outsource cellular M2M application development, deployment and in many cases operation, to VAS providers," IHS' Sam Lucero said.
