Is rodenticide exposure making bobcats more vulnerable to disease?

Research ecologist Joanne Moriarty has seen a correlation between ingestion of rodenticides and infection with mange among bobcats, and she hypothesizes that the exposure via prey may be making bobcats more vulnerable to infection by compromising their immune function. Evidence of rodenticide exposure was seen in 92% of bobcats necropsied since 1996 at her Thousand Oaks, Calif., study site.
