The Eugene 4J School District in Oregon is holding its Summer Springboard program to help students prepare for the start of the fall term. Students are participating in the program for a variety of reasons, including a poor math grade this past year or hopes of getting a leg up on an advanced math course. "By coming here, they get an hour and a half of math a day, 6 hours a week for 4 weeks; that's 24 hours," program director Louise Bronaugh said. "So that's quite a number of weeks of school that they're getting in math here."
