Slice aims to update common cutting tools

California-based product design company Slice is working to develop modern and safer versions of traditional household tools like scissors, box cutters and knives. "We wanted to make them safer and more functional, but also nicer to look at and use. People often think that just because something looks good, it doesn't work well. Consumers should have the best of both worlds,” says company founder TJ Scimone.
