Study finds high rate of glove misuse in hospital wards

Research published in Antimicrobial Resistance and Infection Control showed a 42% rate of glove misuse in six hospital wards. The study also found that health care workers risked cross-contamination by neglecting proper hand hygiene in 39% of glove-use episodes. The results emphasize the need for more effective integration of glove use in hand hygiene policy, researchers said.
