Wearable technology reaches baby's bottom

Pixie Scientific will test and then submit for FDA approval a diaper that uses sensors to detect a range of medical issues with its wearers, the New York-based startup said. A smartphone application transfers the data, gleaned from multiple patches placed on the diaper, to medical professionals. The sensors can detect such problems as urinary tract infections, kidney dysfunctions and dehydration, Pixie's founder Yaroslav Faybishenko said.
