France backs domestic streaming play by Orange

French telecom Orange says it will debut a video service called Orangecast that will use a plug-in Wi-Fi/HDMI device to provide streaming access to a number of viewing devices. The offering, which has the backing of the Economy Ministry, will include titles from HBO and Warner Bros. currently available through the subscription-based Orange Cinema Series.
