Grocers prep meals for hungry customers

Sales of prepared foods at grocery stores reached $20 billion in 2005 and are expected to grow at 3% every year, according to food consultant Technomic. Retailers in Florida including Publix, Wal-Mart Stores and Whole Foods Market are ramping up their prepared foods takeout business to meet with increased demand for healthy, convenient meals.
