San Francisco hotel finds going green not all that unusual

The Orchard Garden Hotel in San Francisco aspired to become the nation's first LEED-certified hotel when it was conceived in November 2004, but with green building becoming more common, the hotel is now only hoping to be the first LEED-certified hotel in the western U.S. The acquisition of "green" building materials has been easier than expected and costs have been relatively affordable compared to the skyrocketing costs of traditional building materials.
