Bids come in on first of five Panama Canal expansion contracts

The Panama Canal Authority says 10 bids on what will be the first of five contracts related to the $5.25 billion expansion of the Panama Canal have come in, ranging from a low of $41.1 million from Constructora Urbana S.A. of Panama, to a high of $89.97 million, offered by a team led by Jay Cashman Inc., of Quincy, Mass. The bids will be selected in two weeks, officials say.
