Scientists to focus on immune system, not virus, for HIV cure

Instead of examining characteristics of HIV in their search for a cure, two University of Oklahoma scientists plan to study the basic aspects of the immune system. The researchers say pinpointing the key to the body's immune system, mostly a mystery until five years ago, could lead to development of a vaccine against the disease.
