Loyola's new care model brings nurses, patients closer together

A new nursing care model at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Ill., brings patients, families and medical staff together to improve patient care. In the center's new $120 million tower, nurses spend more time with patients and families because their nursing stations are smaller and situated outside patient room clusters. The set-up also allows for greater collaboration among nurses.
