Study: Mother's drug abuse linked to child abuse, neglect

A study published in Pediatrics found 52% of children born to mothers who abused drugs were neglected or abused, compared with 6% of children whose mothers did not abuse drugs. About 25% of children with drug-abusing moms entered foster care, compared with 2% in the comparison group.
