Brokerage seeks bankruptcy liquidation amid shortfall claim

Peregrine Financial Group filed for Chapter 7 liquidation in U.S. Bankruptcy Court after the Commodity Futures Trading Commission said in a lawsuit that the brokerage had a shortfall of $200 million in client funds. Separately, U.S. District Judge Rebecca Pallmeyer granted a CFTC request to freeze Peregrine's assets.
