Australian consumers grow more tentative

Australian consumer confidence is down slightly this month, off 0.05% after a 4.7% gain in June, according to a survey by the Melbourne Institute and Westpac Bank. The 102.1 reading is now only narrowly positive, with pessimism over family finances countered by expectations of general economic improvement over the next five years.
