China owns world's largest structure in terms of floor space

The New Century Global Centre in Chengdu, China, which has floor space of more than 18 million square feet, is touted by Chinese officials as "the largest building in the world." The structure can hold 20 Sydney Opera Houses and is three times the size of the Pentagon. The building, despite its massive size, was built in only three years and includes two hotels, retail space for luxury stores, a cinema, water park and an artificial sun that will shine 24 hours a day.
