EU and US regulators reportedly will unveil swaps deal soon

Regulators in Europe and the US are set to announce a deal to jointly supervise the global swaps market, sources say. The move comes amid concerns about extraterritoriality of US rules. The agreement between Michel Barnier, the EU's internal-market commissioner, and Gary Gensler, chairman of the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission, describes how they will use mutual recognition of rules to oversee the market, sources say.
