Excess belly fat may predict likelihood of cancer, heart disease

Excess fat in the abdomen was associated with increased risk of developing heart disease and cancer, U.S. researchers reported in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology. The findings suggest that "abdominal fat may partially underlie the association of body fat and heart disease and cancer," study author Dr. Caroline Fox said.
