Government races to get insurance exchanges up and running

The Obama administration indicated its decision to postpone the Affordable Care Act's employer mandate was designed to provide relief to companies that needed more time to prepare, but the government also had yet to finalize key regulations and set up necessary computer systems for upcoming exchanges, according to officials. Now the government is facing another critical task: Making sure the insurance exchanges that are at the heart of the health care law are up and running in time for their scheduled Oct. 1 launch.
