House budget proposal falls short of SEC's hopes

The financial services budget proposal released by the House Appropriations Committee on Tuesday failed to meet the Securities and Exchange Commission's requested $1.674 billion. The $1.371 billion allocated for SEC spending is $50 million more than the agency received this year.
