Kenya’s bourse plans to introduce derivatives for REITs and other assets in the coming months, according to the Capital Markets Authority. Meanwhile, three investment funds have applied to list REITs. "Providing new investment opportunities will attract more foreign investors looking for a variety of investment options and allow local investors to spread their investment and tap into new sources of raising capital for projects," says Paul Muthaura, acting CEO of the regulator. The nation's stock market is the best performing in the region after Ghana and Nigeria.
