Report: Low Medicaid dental reimbursement hinders access to care in Ore.

Low reimbursement rates and challenging paperwork requirements keep many dentists from accepting Medicaid patients, creating a shortage of providers especially in rural and low-income areas, a Pew Charitable Trust study found. Oregon county dental clinics have tried to fill the void with mobile units, tooth-brushing kits for children and dental-sealant services. The Pew report recommended raising dental-reimbursement rates.
