Sainsbury's c-store growth outpaces supermarkets

Sainsbury's convenience-store chain, Sainsbury Local, has grown to 541 locations since launching 15 years ago, and the company will end the year with more c-stores than supermarkets for the first time, CEO Justin King told shareholders at the retailer's annual meeting this week. Last year, the company opened 14 supermarkets and 87 convenience stores, and Sainsbury will continue to expand both concepts, he said.
