Unused vacation time hurts employers, employees

American workers often don't use all their vacation time, but not taking time off costs employers and employees in the long run, Kelly Phillips Erb writes. "Employers who discourage vacations end up with stressed, unhappy employees. They also end up with unhealthy employees: not taking vacation has been found to correspond to increased chance of heart disease for both men and women," Erb writes.
