E-retailer Birchbox's physical store to tap mobile technology

Online retailer Birchbox is retaining a flavor of the mobile experience at its first physical outlet, with a large touch screen and iPads at the New York City store. The beauty products company also will use a mobile application to tailor recommendations, building on its online use of "artificial intelligence and machine learning to personalize product recommendations and samples," co-CEO Katia Beauchamp says.
