Program, NP awarded for end-of-life care

The Supportive Care program at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Pontiac, Mich., along with nurse practitioner Peg Nelson, are receiving a Circle of Life award, including $10,000, from the American Hospital Association for efforts in helping patients and their families through pain and death. Nelson has worked for 26 years to help improve comfort and quality of care for patients with chronic pain or who are dying.
